The building formerly owned
by the noble family
von Schönberg has had an
eventful history over the
centuries and many wondrous
incidents have happened in
and around it.
The Lay-Haus used to be village inn,
dance hall, meeting place of the
sock knitting guild of Limbach,
municipal brewery and
wine-press house. In the
Lay-Haus of today,
the guest can find original pieces
of the past restored
with much care and effort
in each room.
The landlord is an expert on the
past and can tell stories full of
witticisms. Of course they are all
related to the house -
we guarantee for that.
Even Karl May used to be here once.
